Commonwealth High Schools's Ashley Ramos-Iglesias success story!
We are excited to share an amazing piece of media about one of our students at Commonwealth!
Commonwealth High Schools's Ashley Ramos-Iglesias's story is one of determination and not letting the past define or impact her future. Her discovery of Commonwealth High School helped change the trajectory of her life and that of her family, and has put her on a path to become a nurse. Her story was so inspiring that North Carolina's largest education publication, EdNC, picked up her story and ran it as this week's "Perspective" piece. Not only was she published, but the leadership at EdNC also invited her and her mother to be part of the "Latin Education Summit" in Winston-Salem this fall by providing them both with full scholarships. While attending this conference, Ashley and her mother will join other Latin/Hispanic leaders and education champions that are committed to advancing success in their communities. Which is exactly what Ashley has done with her life!
